Come in to the store and learn some of the great places Maryland and the surrounding area has to offer. One of our staff members will be more then happy to offer their suggestions and offer you some resources in our store. To get started check out the listings below. Check back often as we continue to add to the list!
Check this page often for updated listings of all types of cycling events in and around our area. Rides require, at minimum, an appropriate bike in good working order, water, and a helmet. We suggest a spare tube, energy food, maybe a little cash in case we stop, and your biggest smile! Many rides are held subject to weather. It's a good idea to confirm dates, time and any specific requirements, too. We'll see you out there — and have fun!
Introduction To Road Bike Riding
One Day Class - Introduction to Road Bike Riding and Fitness Cycling
Are you new to cycling on the road? Introduction to Road and Fitness Cycling is a great way to learn the basic skills needed. This one-day clinic will consist of a discussion and demonstration covering shifting and group riding etiquette. Then we will head out on the road to put into practice what we have discussed. On the road we'll work on using your gears, climbing technique and group riding etiquette. CLasses currently available in April and May - Learn More Here
Multi Day Classs - Are you new to road cycling? Introduction to Road Bike Riding consists of an indoor cycling class, clinics and four outdoor rides to help you get up to speed. You’ll learn what it has taken other riders years to learn in just a few short weeks. Dates TBD . Learn more here.
|Thursday Evening||6:00 PM||*** Starts April 12, 2018 ***Our Thursday night group ride will be at 6:00 PM. We will be riding for one to two hours as daylight allows. This ride is for road. Women's Basic Bike Class: We’ll teach you basic cycling techniques and road side repairs that will allow you to get the most out of your riding time. You'll learn some tips and tricks to increase the fun factor while you are out on your bike. There will also be a Q & A Session.
Mechanics 101 for the New Bike Owner: This is the ideal class for the new bike owner or for the person who just wants to know a little more about how their bike works. You'll learn how to fix a flat tire, basic road side repair, and basic bike maintenance. Class space is limited to ten students per session.
Mechanics 201 for Advanced Cyclists: This class will cover all the basics that are used to adjust your bike and keep it properly running. We will cover such topics as gear and brake adjustments and other items related to general maintenance. This class features a low teacher-to-student ratio. Class space is limited to eight students per session.
Mechanics 301 for the Home Mechanic: Learn the Tips and Tricks from the Pro's. Mechanics 301 will deal with general installation of bicycle components. Such as headset installation, bottom bracket installation. This class is limited to four students since it is very hands on. Course material will be customizable somewhat by the participants. Group Discounts Available for three or more students. We also offer one on one classes as well as off-site classes please contact us for more information.
Triathlon 101: Learn tips and tricks in preparing and participating in your first triathlon. Our Triathlon experts will help you prepare for your first triathlon and give you valuable information on how to avoid some basic mistakes. You'll know more of what to expect during your triathlon and be more prepared when race day arrives. Space is limited please RSVP.
Introduction to Bicycle Fit and Rider Comfort: Learn how your cycling position affects comfort. We'll cover basic fit issues and solutions to address them. You'll gain knowledge on how the three contact points affect your comfort and how to alleviate problem areas on your bike while increasing your understanding of the causes.

New Owners Clinics are generally held on Saturday's, with an occasional weeknight class. Class length is approximately an hour.

|Aug 4, 2018||Culpeper Gran Fondo||Culpeper, VA||The Culpeper Gran Fondo began in 2015 with rave reviews, in 2016 it will kick off our Culpeper Endurance Festival with 32, 62 and 100 mile options. Join your fellow cyclists on low traffic, country roads that wind through horse country, farmland, forests, trout streams and vineyards all within sight of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Each distance is fully supported with mechanics and well stocked aid stations. All rides start at 7:30am with a mass start. None of these rides are flat, this is central Virginia, but these rides are gorgeous and fun. The post ride party starts at 10:30am and goes until 4:00pm.|

|Sep 8, 2018||Civil War Century||Thurmont, MD||Beautiful ride through back roads in scenic, hilly western Maryland and southern Pennsylvania. The full century visits the Antietam, Gettysburg and South Mountain battlefield historical sites, with lots of climbing and descending along the way. One of the area's premier century rides, with great support and organization. Registration opens early June.|
